Although I have been on this site for over about two years, very few of my coins are catalogued as I removed most of them when I decided to redo everything and see what my map would look like if I only listed my silver coins. It looks half as pathetic as before. My main collecting problem is not that I have no goal but that I am unable to keep from purchasing coins that look nice but do not help me reach my goal. I wanted to get a silver coin from 100 different countries, a feat only possible if you buy noncirculating coins from countries like Belize, Bermuda and Rwanda, but I find myself buying coins I enjoy rather than ones I hate only to achieve a goal nobody cares about. I hope to become a better member of this site but considering I lack the ability to post fun or informitive facts with correct spelllling, I will probably not post much, but I wish everyone a great day and plenty of patience as it takes a lot for this hobby (obsession) Thank you.
You have made one fundamental error, by stating your collection is pathetic. However large or small a collection happens to be, it is surely brilliant for what it is. A collection always starts with one coin. Perhaps, without realising, you may have set two goals. One is for the silver collection, which seems to be more difficult that you originally thought, but over time, could well be possible, but take more time than expected and secondly, just to increase the number of coins within your collection.
When focusing on one thing, it becomes frustrating that coins are not available at the speed you want them, so a great deal of patience is required. Some collectors wait years for a certain coin to become available or even a certain date.
You have to delete the frustration part and bring back the actual joy of collecting, and realise that dreams do actually come true, even if it takes time.
You need to look at things a different way. Relax.
My collection has been sitting in storage for 2 years. I have a box at my parents' house that is becoming a sub collection. It has a lot of silver coins in it and it is becoming a great collection.
I have been fighting myself for years to specialise but I haven't yet.
Last year I bought a job lot and have spent this summer going through it and sorting it.
I have added coins to my collection.
My collection remains a quandary; but it is a good collection because I see it that way.

The coin page states this is a non circulating issue but my copies certainly look circulated, although not as much as other better known silver coins. And the silver content is only 0.500, that looks very strange to me for a non circulating issue.
Maybe your goal is more reachable than you think.
