Hey folks. I cannot find this particular one anywhere online. It is a commemorative 1876-1976. Dated 1979. The unusual thing is the "12 1/2 grammos" with a picture of an older fellow wearing a bow tie and moustache. Any pointers?
This was issued 1978 to 1981 so will include 1979, and what parts are different from the one above please. It is a Dominican Republic 50 Centavos or 1/2 Peso (12.1/2 gramos). Where on yours is the 1876-1976 part. There also was a KM# 44 Centennial (which is not on Numista) - maybe that is the one?
Well, KM# 43 is a Centennial 25 Centavos, so I assume KM# 44 which is a 50 Centavos (or 1/2 Peso) would also be a Centennial, as it is the next number - except both of those are only dated 1976

It very much looks like the coin you're describing but, as ZacUK says, there is no mention of a 1979 issue - can you post a couple of photos/scans?
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.
