I don't believe there is a way to mark up a coin in your collection without it displaying on the map. Admittedly this is just a 1st world problem, but I have a few coins which don't belong in my main collection which I would never let go of..

I would like to list them but not for them to show on the map, as I only collect British empire coinage it would spoil my map. One instance I have is a Spanish 2 Pesetas, obviously it's a Spanish coin but I include it in my collection because Gibraltar used these coins officials even under British rule until 1898. Even afterwards and well into the 20th century.
Why don't you just start a 2nd account as you basically have 2 separate collections?
What all of us need it's to be able to manage multiple collections on same account.

nah, I'm not really into that.. I did think about it once. I realised very quickly how bad of an idea it is.

As Andy said we need to be able to manage multiple collections ideally maybe that's something to work towards :)

Yes, that would be wonderful! Right now I have not entered my swap coins since I want to keep my stats and map and overall weight of my entries matching my actual collection, not the box of coins I have in the corner of the room.

your swap coins are not included in these numbers as far as I know.
Yes !
This multiple collection on one account has been in the air for a long time, maybe deserves a special post (or maybe just change a bit the title of your thread Mark.
Hope it gets implemented sometimes.

I am working on two very different collections and would love to have them listed and mapped separately.
My idea is to be able to add categories to your profile, and then be able to add a coin that you own to a category (collection) by means of a drop down list. Then on the map page, you can just select which collection you want to view.
I think just having a second account is really the easiest solution here.
I do have a second account too, where I manage my fathers collection (He is too old for Numista :o).

I agree, there needs to be a way to have your "inventory" (list of all coins) split into separate "collections" (groups of related coins). Right now the only way to have separate collections is to have multiple accounts.

This would be similar to the Collector's Universe PCGS Registry sets, where your coins could be added to different sets: http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/
