The current listings under Italian States -Sardinia - Scudo contain coins of both mainland Piedmont and coins solely struck for the island of Sardinia. I found an excellent Italian website with very useful information to distinguish the Sardinian from the Piedmontese coins.
The best way to distinguish is to look for the Sardinian coat of arms with the cross and the four blindfolded Moors, or with 4 smaller crosses. The coins with a Savoyard cross and eagle are Piedmontese, and were part of a different currency system.
I am in favour of moving the Piedmontese coins to 'Italian States - Piedmont - Scudo', even though it was part of the Kingdom of Sardinia.
Furthermore, I found a listing of a gold half Doppia from Piedmont with the image of a Dopietta (or half Carlino, I can't tell the size nor weight from the image)) from Sardinia:
