New Country [Risolto]

It looks like another country has been added to the list. There are now 410. What was added?

Burgundian Netherlands seems to be new to me. Just looking through the country list.

I'll ask once again, could Numista powers that be , please establish some sort of formal announcement of new countries added.

We try to notify 300 country club when something happens. Not everytime we succed in doing so.

Official announcements, like on the numista homepage are out of my reach.

You are just too fast in noticing those changes !
It takes ages to decide to add a country, and the announcement is done afterwards. Sorry for that
Here is some complementary information:

Burgundian Netherlands, referee Dazaya who also takes care of Spanish Netherlands.

The limits between the 2 was set in 1506, death of Philip the Fair.
The specialized catalogues do not consider the "Habsburg Netherlands" but go from "Burgundian" to "Spanish". We followed that choice that reflects the changes in coinage for our catalogue.

Translations, currencies etc will establish slowly.

This is not a decision taken by the board but obviously this new country have to remain. This is mainly a consequence of this very old topic. But of course any new country creation will require to be approved.
