Hello again :)
could anybody tell me what year this coin is please.. I know it is between 1912-1224 but thats it...

thank you  (8
Hello Rachel - the worn symbol at north-west in your picture looks like a Chinese number 9 symbol, so the year would be 1920 on the page ...

P.S. After sending the above, I made a quick picture, which combines the obverse from your coin with a chart I made a while ago for Chinese / Japanese numbers. Hope I read it correctly.  :wiz:   8.

Thanks - I read your reply just as I was amending my reply. So I added a picture (to show what I was on about), as was fairly sure that was where the date number would be. As you may know the coins of China and Japan and a few others do not have the year like we would know it - they use the number of years the emperor has been reigning instead. So yours was issued in the ninth year, hopefully. Anyway, I too asked recently for the year of a coin I had as well, but mine did not have a year of reign on; my coin was a 10 Cash from Kiang-Nan province, and was made in 1902 it seems. So you were lucky!  8)
P.S. There is a section in Numisdoc for coin year identification for quite a few countries. The fourth one on there is called Calendar - Japanese but those numbers (not emperors though) are also used in China. Not sure if you have seen it ...

Rachel, you should've just asked me!

It's the Chinese Rep. 9th year. Look in Rep. of China on the country list and look under Kwang-tung.
