New currencies to MACAU

Pubblicazioni di 4
Macau was occupied by Portugal by the end of XVII Century but only in 1952 the first coin was minted.
The legend of the coins was, MACAU-REPÚLICA PORTUGUESA. It was the only Portuguese
Colony without the legend COLÓNIA DE […].

In 1987, after intensive negotiations, it was agreed that in 1999 the sovereignty would return to China.

In 1992 new coins were minted and the only legend was MACAU. No references to PORTUGAL or CHINA.

In 1999 the last coins issued under the Portuguese sovereignty were minted. Some catalogues consider that they are the first under the CHINA sovereignty. They are wrong for two reasons:

1- The Law to issue the coins was signed by the Portuguese administration (Decree-Law no.54/99/M, of 4th October).
2- The coins show the Portuguese Coat of Arms, as used in previous coinages.

Therefore we need to separate these two periods in two new currencies, like in Krause:

1 - Pataca, Portuguese Administration - (1952-1999)
100 Avos = 1 Pataca
2 - Pataca, Special Administrative Region (S.A.R.) - (1999-date)
100 Avos = 1 Pataca

Your proposed change reflects a political change but not a currency change. I personally like multiple sections for different eras but in this case I'm a bit indifferent.
The French Franc remained the Franc from 1792 to 1959, replacement year by the New Franc. No matter the native Republic became an Empire, a restored Kingdom, another Republic, a last Empire, one more Republic, the Vichy regime, a restored Republic and a new version of the Republic. The Franc remained the Franc, and the Pataca is similar for me.

There are many reasons to separate the coins:
1. The coins issued after 1999 are different.
2. To have the coins in blocks of different eras is more logical.
3. The Standard Catalogue of World Coins also has separation.
4. There is one big lot of collectors only interested in Portuguese Colonies
