The Numista community continues to grow, and the forums should grow too. They are more active than they were two years ago, and I expect this trend to continue.

I think it's time to consider the advantages of revisiting the structure of these forums. Increased subdivision would make it easier for users to find forum topics that interest them, and help divide the chore of forum moderation.

Here's what it might look like:
A) Numismatics
A1) Numismatic questions
A2) Online numismatic resources
A3) Offline numismatic resources (support for Numista Outings)
A4) General numismatic chat
B) Coin help
B1) Identification
B2) Grading
B3) Value / worth
B4) Preservation and restoration
B5) Numismatic supplies (albums, folders, flips)
C) Bazaar
C1) Swap offers
C2) Sale offers
C3) Coins wanted
D) Numista
D1) How to use Numista / FAQ
D2) Catalog
D3) Swapping
D4) Numisdoc
D5) Outings
D6) Numista Team / management
E) Community
E1) History and geography
E2) travel and mail/post advice
E3) general collecting chat
E4) other languages

I don't expect this to make more administrative work. The same post volume would continue, simply spread out among more subforums.

Your thoughts? Anything I missed?
I agree, although this comes with disadvantage. One cannot see all new posts on one place and will have to click multiple times to get to them.

I already have to do this for the six forums here that I follow.
You missed one on banknotes.

What will be the difference between A4 and E3 subdivisions, both of them being general forum?
As stated by Oklahoman, lots of members would welcome banknotes forum. I support the idea for sure.
If you go back to the early year postings on the forum, quite a bit of interst in 2010 and 2011 for banknote questions and support. A banknote forum seems a no brainer and would probably grab users to this site...then maybe we could start listing banknotes and fulfill the name numista.

A4 is specific to numismatics. E3 is for other kinds of collections (banknotes, stamps, etc).
Banknotes are numismatics. They should not be lumped with other non numismatics like stamps. They should be stand alone or "lumped" with coins.

I prefer the status quo over this.

I don't like the idea. It's just more clicking. You would have to go into each section to check for new messages, that's 22 sections to check as opposed to just 6 or 7.
I'd suggest to consider merging repetitive posts, or maybe adding (if possible) an automatic function of listing (possibly) similar posts at the bottom of each topic.

I agree with this. I would rather keep it as it is.

Hello,
The forum sections evolved significantly since this thread was opened. I prefer to close it.
