When a posted photo of an item is a counterfeit, is there some way of either getting it removed, or of tagging it as a fake? I understand there must be some control here.
I will be publishing a web page on Tibetan coins including known fakes, and will link to any unusual pieces in Numista, so for my purposes a fake is as good as a genuine one. For a site specializing in Asian coins with competent moderators who screen for fakes and accurate attributions when they are entered, see zeno.ru. Perhaps in time numista will find its area of specialty and attract good moderators in that area.
I love when people are here for 4 days and start to say how badly is it managed here, that we should find good admins and that zeno.ru is better...
I will move the image into comments with appropriate labeling. Thanks for spotting this. And by the way you are right in one thing, zeno.ru has some great database on mainly old Asian coinage, and there are not many people who would have the knowledge to make it better on Numista.
I posted the query here because I first attempted to fix the problem myself by appending "FAKE" to the denomination but found on checking back that the description had reverted. It seems to me that EITHER willful protection of counterfeit listings, or lack of a clear process for screening or reporting them would be of concern to moderators. I don't believe I need more than four days of membership to spot that problem, and if such attention is unwelcome to the current moderators, they may rest assured I will not bother them further.
What a piece of work! He may have knowledge. He for sure has arrogance. Blesses us with his presence and flies off when we dont kiss his backside. You tell him Jarcek!

Hello. Sorry for the delay. I wanted to answer, but was late. Neilithic said for me.
I rejected the request, I suggested a variant of how to supplement the information on the page and of course I asked for some link to justify your opinion. It is not right to call the whole page of the coin "fake" if someone posted a photo of a fake.
