You're not alone.
It's due to the recent changes in "Type of coin" field: if the "Commemorative issue" field is empty then this field changes from No to Unknown when file modification requests are submitted, but the "Type of coin" field doesn't change i.e. should stay Common coin, Pattern, etc.

Yes, it can be a bit of a pain. Also, I've recently received a request to add a date line, it seemed to come through as 2 separate requests, the first showed what you just posted Mark and the the next one actually had the date line request on it. Can be a bit frustrating and time consuming when you're trying to work through a number of requests.
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.
Accept or reject, has no real effect. As others mentioned, this is an automatic (say bug) thing that comes with any request that you receive. Just ignore it and look at the rest of the request really.

So your solution is to just ignore it. Great. Meanwhile the rest of us who always use mobiles to browse via the web app have to untick one, write a reason, and hopefully not click accept all - which is only just above it and awkward on touch screens.
Ah no, maybe I wasnt clear. that's not what I meant.
Ignore it as in do absolutely nothing about it. imagine it's not there.
just do really nothing about it.
So, accept all the request as usual or reject it as usual. dont bother yourself ticking or unticking it. it doesnt matter either way

Yes, I had questions about this when I got my first couple, from what I understand it comes from the introduction of the new coin types.
The coin types used to be tick boxes for "circulating" (yes, no, unknown) and "commemorative" (yes, no, unknown). So if you change it to one of the new options from the drop down box "common coin", "circulating commemorative" or "non circulating coin" then Numista doesn't recognise the old type and changes it to unknown, but it doesn't actually change anything on the coin sheet.
