Philippines: 5 piso 2001?

Pubblicazioni di 3
Hi,

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1680.html

please explain to me, what the difference between the two 2001 line ought to be

First line just 2001
Second line 2001 BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas??)

or does it have something to do with the mint mark and initials under the shoulder???

I ask, because to day I was supposed to get the coin without BSP! Since I have a coin I thought with BSP (Bangko etc) I have to say that the swap executed here on Numista are sometimes lotteries! Just see my documentations from https://en.numista.com/forum/topic62919.html where it is NOW possible to see what kind of variant you might have. In this Philippines case my swap partner has been just as lost as me about which line to use. The 3rd coin of the exchange not in the proper line, but I can forgive my partner, but Numista for not being more precise!!

Here the two coins:
From my partner from the NO BSP line

Mine from the BSP line

To me they look 100% alike?

In the year lines for 1997 BSP and 1998 BSP the comment box says "with mintmark & designer initials below shoulder". So I guess we have to add this in the comment box of 2001 BSP and 2002 BSP as well.
So I guess it's all about these:

The problem is, all the pictures I can find on the internet are 1997 and 1998 without this and none with, and all the 2001 coins are with and none without.
What I also see is that many other dates have that sign under the shoulder, without any mentioning of BSP after the date in our year lines. So we might have some errors on the coin page for this type.

I also had already several wrong coins in my swaps, and mostly this was about varieties. But I don't blame my swap partner, nor Numista. I blame myself for these mistakes. Besides, "we" are Numista, so blaming Numista is also blaming yourself. When you're looking for a variety you have to ask your swap partner for a picture or scan, and I haven't always done that, hence the mistakes. You can't expect from members who don't collect varieties that they always ticked the right box for dates with varieties. So you always have to discuss this first with your swap partner and ask for pictures/scans, certainly when there is not enough information.

Luckily there are sites, like Cobra's one and members like you who made wonderful documentations about varieties. But sometimes that's not enough, there are still plenty of varieties without documentation, and in these cases we must be very careful to make no mistakes during swapping.
Hi,

until we have proof of the opposite, i.e. that the same year can have both, those lines should definitely be modified.

From my 5 piso coins from 1991 I have the following
1991 with
1992 with
1995 without
1997 with and without
1998 without
2001 to 2005 with
2012 with

Maybe we can put something together like that?
