But to me the first 6 is smaller then normal
Anyone find this and what do you think. thank you
Thank you all for you replays. The images are of two different coins. Yes derf that came to me an upside down nine. I found this about 2 or 3 months ago. And have not the time to find more of this year. But will not go away. Bugs me. Just would like to know. I need to get a lot better at documenting my finds. This last year I would find something and just put back in my jars of coins. Well here are some new images of the two coins in question.
coin #1 coin#2
Just trying to make up my mind if it is a variant or what
thank you yours daryl
Oh if you have this coin can you please out up an image of the date. thank you
Oh and the nines look different too. Long and short tail.
I think I should have put in numismatic questions and not here. OH well have to run have a to do list longer then my arm
Hi Daryl, at first I thought you were completely right, that second 6 is higher than the first one. But now I think SRV5490 is right and it's optical illusion because of that blackish shadow/dirt around the second 6:
The left red arrow is a copy of the right one, so they have the exact same length and the upper green arrow is a copy of the lower one, so the green arrows are completely parallel. So there is only one conclusion: both sixes have the same length. Strange, because at first sight it totally doesn't look like that.

amazing! i wonder if the "hole" in the two 6's are the same as well, cuz the right one looks more oval than the left one..

Hahaha, that was exactly what I was thinking too when I was working on the picture. But I didn't measure it, but I will do it now. But I'm afraid it will have the same outcome: optical illusion. I'll post the picture in a few minutes.
It's a bit difficult to say because of that blackish dirt/shadow and the sink in the metal just about the place where I have to measure (see green arrow). The length of both red arrows is identical.
I would say: optical illusion again, IF there is a difference it would be too minimal to talk about a variation.
Thank you guys. I will put this down as an optical illusion. I have been going back an forward with this for a few months now. I would measure by hand an get something different all the time.
