I couldn't help but notice that the obverse pics of Queen Beatrix have her facing downwards as opposed to facing left. These are KM#202, KM#203, KM#204, KM#205, KM#205a, KM#206, KM#210.

Also, the pic of the queen for KM#231 has her facing up upwards.
Well, that is also how the coins (and text) are orientated.

There is no way that the coin's obverse was created to have the queen facing down or up. Whoever posted the pics did so because it made it easier to read the text.
Apparently it was ... unless you call it a 90° allignment. Don`t have coins at hand for a picture but that is exactly the alignment.

There are pics of a current coin set at the Netherlands mint, similar in style to the ones we're talking about and the queen is not facing down. Seriously, what government would allow for their ruler's image to be facing downwards.

Since the euro they have indeed made a 90° turn to put her upright ... but before she was indeed face down/up, depending on what allignment you want it to be.

CoinFactswiki.com, Colnect.com, coinz.eu, en.coin.net and Krause all have her facing left.

I am not trying to be difficult, but by your reasoning, "...depending on what alignment you want it to be", does that go for any coin. Or are you saying that having the coin facing down is your choice.
I thought it was some prophetical meaning of all Netherlands drowning due to global warming.

I also thought there was something wrong, but apparently, this is shown right in the catalogue.

Well, then all those site are not showing the coin like it is ... their bad (and numista's praise)

What I meant with "what alignment you want it to be" is that the face could be up or down depending if you choose coin or medal alignment (but of course never facing left or right), but the way it is in the catalogue is the logical choice with the text upright. Mark that the common coins are in medal alignment and the commemorative KM#231 is in coin alignment.

All Dutch Gulden & Cents coins are in coinage alignment.

All Dutch Euro & Euro-Cents coins are in medallic alignment.
