Tokens, banknotes, stamps, notgeld...all have commerce in common. If a medal served that function they would be a token or not held I guess. I vote no. Where do you stop with medals? The Nobel? Grade school attendance? Best pumpkin in Armpit, Oklahoma 1973? There are probably hundreds of thousands of military and government medals and decorations..not to mention military challenge coins. For me if it never served the monetary need or commerce than it should be elsewhere. That said, I love the classic designs found in medallic art and Olympic medals among other things.

There are borders to what can be added on Numista and what cannot, but these are not clearly defined.
Xavier though had made clear to some points that he did not want to see in the Numista catalogue, such as Military award medals, apothecary weights, banknotes and some others.
What can or can't be added on Numista will hopefully in the coming months be clearly marked under the Guidelines for Editing the Catalogue.
