I believe that the current country division for the coins of the Belgian Congo, and Ruanda-Urundi is incorrect. I notice that, at a high level, it matches the arrangement found in Krause, but I believe that this is also incorrect.

Currently, Numista arranges these countries as follows:

1. Belgian Congo [containing Belgian Congo - Franc (1887-1967)] contains coins from 1909 to 1949.

2. Ruanda-Urundi [containing Ruanda-Urundi - Franc (1887-1967)] contains coins from 1952 to 1960.

3. Rwanda-Burundi [containing Franc (1960-1964)] contains coins from 1960 to 1964.

I am not concerned about numbers 3. I believe that to be practically correct.

Items 1 and 2, however, are based on the misconception that there was a difference between the coins of the Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi. In fact, from when the Ruanda and Urundu territories came under the control of Belgium in 1916, until independence in 1960, they used the coins of the Belgian Congo. The last issue of Belgian Congo coins, however, from 1952 to 1960, carried the names of all three territories, from whence the confusion comes.

There never was a separate Ruanda-Urundi Franc, either as a currency or a coinage, before the Rwanda-Burundi Franc of 1960.

Therefore, I believe that items 1 and 2 in the list above should be consolidated into a single entry, with no subsection, called "Belgian Congo". This is in line with the information on the Congolese Franc that exists on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congolese_franc#First_franc,_1887%E2%80%931967
