Hello,

I'd like to find out if the coin in my possession is real, I think it's not but would like confirmation from experts on this forum :).

(I think the edge of the coin is unnaturally smooth?)

Thanks in advance!
Not an expert on coins of this type, but it's definitely not authentic if you ask me.
I thought so too!
"tail" reads "DA MIHI VIRTUTE CONTRA HOSTES TVO" (give me strength against your enemies??)
"head" reads "KAROLVS D. G. ROM. IMP. HISP. REX (Charles by the grace of God, roman emperor, king of Spain??)
Cita: "JohnDoe"I thought so too!

It 's a replica of a Spanish Netherlands gold coin, more specifically an imitation of this coin:

There's even a mention of it's replica in the comments section there.
Yeah...

Indeed a replica, I do wonder what its value would be?
I don't find that mention anywhere?
Cita: "JohnDoe"Hah, I guess I found it

Whatever a buyer wants to pay you for it. :°
But at most I'd expect no more than maybe a couple of US dollars on a good day, with the right buyer and with a ton of luck.
Haha! Nah, I think I'll keep it, really interesting reign Charles V had

I do have some other coins in my possession that might be more interesting; would it be okay to post them in this thread too? Or should I make other threads?

Either is fine, but one thread clutters the forum up less.
I'm on vacation, so post away and I'll do my best to help you out. :8D
1862 from Belgium

1874 from Belgium, really dark, which is a shame, is it possible to make it brighter without ruining it?

1916 from UK, fairly well preserved in comparison to the others :')

1922 from Belgium, fond of the hole in the middle, was that because they kept it with some kind of rope?

1934 from Belgium

Aaand, this weird one, don't even know if it's a coin (!)
One by one:

The 1862 Belgian: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces274.html
Not worth a lot, especially in that condition. €1-2

The 1874 Belgian: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces516.html
Dark isn't really a problem to numismatists; it's perfectly fine the way it is. Cleaning coins ruins their appeal to numismatists and affects any value, for this coin possibly also €1-2

The 1916 British: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces578.html
Condition doesn't really change anything here, since it's such a common type and date that it's worth only €1 or so, if not less.

The 1922 Belgian: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces292.html
East Asian coins, the first to have such holes, were indeed commonly used on strings for convenience, but these modern coins were most likely not, and holed only for aesthetic purposes. Value also €1-2

The 1934 Belgian: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces493.html
Silver, so worth a bit more; I'd say about €6-10

Last one I can't really help you, it's so destroyed you're better off just listing it here if at all:

If you get that prices, accept it. Here in Flanders the are sold by the kilos.
The 1934 coin is only worth the silver, because the state it is in and because it is not rare. The are bought just for melting (max €2)
Non est totum quod splendet ut aurum
Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften
Sounds fair, and to think I thought I was getting a deal off Ebay for €3,50. x.
