Why does some consider as another country/issuer (DR Congo/Zair; Rhodesia/Zimbabwe etc.) and some not- while the issuer name on the coin itself is not the same? (Burma/Myanmar, Malagashy/Madagascer)
I think such "renaming" of issuer on the coins, should be consider as a new issuer under the same country, even if the other details of the coins looks the same.
That's a huge question, but for brevity's sake I'll admit it's arbitrary to a degree.But then again so would almost any other solution.
But I think Numista's country list is mainly based off of Krause's divisions, which is why we have the Germany 1871-1948 issuer. So it's fine the way it is IMO.
