Using asterisks to represent stars in lettering

Hello,

I want to enquire about the use of asterisks (*) to represent stars in the lettering fields of coins; should this be allowed? I know that we can use the asterisk as a wild card to search for lettering, so I was wondering if there would be any confusion caused by the use of asterisks for stars in lettering.

I myself would not put anything, never an asterisk.

I have also seen people use * when they could've used •.
