i found about a dozen 2012 pennies today found 2 last couple weeks but no dimes yet ,thats the first i've heard of them being around havent seen the nickels either !!!!!!!!!!!! i'll for sure be on the look out........
Last time I was in US, near Denver this February, didn't get any 2012 coins, only some cents and dimes of 2011 D, and an Andrew Jackson $. I thought I could also get some ATB quarters, but even thought I asked the cashiers in the shops, none had ever seen any ATB quarters... Are those not circulating at all?
Also commemorative cents...in 2010 I got some in Illinois, while this time none...

pretty much no, they don't circulate. I don't ever see them :(
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!
ive got maybe a handful atb quarters back circulated but hardly ever and i go through every single person i knows change all the time so if you get one back consider yourself lucky
That reminds me - over a year ago, in December 2010 I got an Olympic 50 pence UK coin in my change; BUT it was dated 2011 so always wondered how that could happen. I just assumed it was illegal, or whatever the term is, to pre-issue circulation currency. So no idea how long it had been in circulation before it got to me, nor now can I remember which of the 29 types issued it was. Though it was genuine.
I have just recently got the latest (unbelievable) Coin Yearbook for English coins: In it it states that Olympic 50 pences were going to be released one a month for 29 months...however the logistics were not plausible so...they did start releasing them in 2010 as you say as they were needed in circulation.
I have only seen the 2012 5 pences so far that is it.

ATB quarters just have a low mintage, that's all.
While I could not find any ATB quarters in US, I found here at home 2 of them, Grand Canyon and Gettysburg both P! I got them from a guy who exchanges money :)
finally today i have found the 2012 dime first one for me after months of searching through circulated change still no nickel yet thats the only one i havent seen
Two days ago I found my first 2011 quarter in circulation. The National Parks series is being killed by its own distribution scheme, but I am enjoying the hunt anyway.
finally today ive found the 2012 nickel after half a year p and d on same day while searching through change my mother in law just brought back from texas i wonder if these are as hard to get as the 2009's
I was able to find about ten various ATB 2010-2011 quarters in circulation in 2011. It's not so hard here in Minnesota. Although I do not collect them, I saved them for my daughter's collection.
A family friend went to America like four months ago, so she brought me 2 2012-P pennies an... AN ATB QUARTER!!! (El Yunque - Puerto Rico).
By the way, she went to Miami.
Got my first UK two pence 2012 coin today. So with the five pence found months ago, still only those two coins seen this year so far; still waiting for the first magnetic ten pence.
P.S. With it not long been released it is already in poor condition, with spots of something on it.
was at the dollar store the other day and they opened a fresh roll of 2012 arcadia quarters so i took as many as they would give me like 10 of them then went back five minutes later and got 10 more so a total of 20 first time i seen them being handed out as change all year
Here in canada they redesigned the 1 dollar and two dollar coins for 2012 and released those right away. I've also seen the pennies and nickels but no dimes or quarters. I'm excited for these to start entering circulation: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces34905.html
I got a few 2012 Colombian coins on a recent trip in May. I got these coins a week before the Banco de la República announced the new coin series that will reintroduce the 1000 pesos coin and replace the current designs for the 50, 100, 200, and 500 pesos coins.
The only 2012 US coins I have been able to get in circulation have been a penny (1 cent) from Philadelphia and a nickel (5 cent) from Denver. I bought the 2012 Yunque, Chaco Culture, and Acadia quarter (25 cents) sets from the US Mint.
Cita: bam777I have seen the 2p but water damaged, waiting for a nice one.
Me too - I saw my second 2012 two pence last week, and that was water damaged - like yours, and like the first one I had. Maybe it was part of the plating process though that caused the blotches.
EDIT: Since writing that earlier, I just now got my first 2012 one penny - without blotches too.
During my summer vacation, I found a lot of 2012 EUR coins in Germany and Austria, and even an Austrian 2 EUR CC 10 years EUR cash...which I regret now that I let it go fo a bottle of Coke in the machine dispenser...
In the US, I found a few 2012 1 Cent coins only, but surprisingly a lot of pre 1981 copper cents...
No ATB quarters unfortunately this time as well...
I was in Tirana (in May) on my way to Greece..and I spent 2 nights in nice simple hotel just next to the university(?)
It is a very lively and lovely city; You have a very beautiful country which we only discover now...

I am glad you like Tirana, it is very lively city and sure it waits to be discovered!Did you get some coins back to swap with :)
Yes, I got some but not many as in youur country (but not only your country), the coins are more and more out of circulation and replaced by banknotes...
In Tirana I had a great dinner at the restaurant " First of May" (Premier Mai in french) at the entrance of the Skandenberg Square, on one side of the "river" and near a famous old bridge (I have forgotten the name of the bridge).
Then we drove to Ohrid (Macedonia) throuht Ismati Krrab and Gracen (just before Elbasan)

That restaurant is close to my home, and is one of my favorites, it has many cuisine types! The bridge is from Ottoman rule, is called "Ura e Tabakëve" :)

About 25% of the cents I get from circulation are pre-1982 bronze. I haven't seen a significant dip in this percentage in the six years I've been tracking it.
I always though they were released a year later than they were minted ? I always have looked at the shiny coins dates and they always seem to be a year behind, so tho year should be 2011 ? Am I right or is it just that I've never had a coin in the right year ? Lol

I have just got 4 x 2012 pennies from McDonalds...very shiny out of a bag of pennies.
