Year field bug or intentional bugger

Note that before uploading coin to status "Pending", user has ticked "No date" checkbox. Then user remembers, he could actually add year in numeric value, as ticking checkbox was insufficient. So when user wants to change from checkbox to numeric value, Numista does not permit adding of numeric value in "Year" field (Mintage section) to the coin. Checkbox can be ticked out, but year value cannot be added, field is locked. The coin is still in status "Pending". This is an oldie, I have noticed it several times in last three years.

If something like that happens, please write to the respective referee. It is usually not possible for regular members to modify a year.

But the coin I am adding is still in pending status, is there any logic to why I cannot change anything I like (especially this field) before coin is "Validated"?

Well, this is unintended side effect. You can change your request on requests page. Years can be changed only if no one selected that year in their collection yet.

I totally agree with you, but only from the point on, where coin has been Validated. In other words if I understand properly, if user, who adds new coin and does not add number of coin/s in his possession (hence no one on Numista owns such coin yet) and this coin still has status Pending, actually can change year. OK, will check it next time.

If it is still pending, you can also safely remove it from your collection, change a year and add it back into collection.
