Creating an index table within a thread

Hi

I want to link various posts within my thread to an index table in the first post. Is there a way to do that ?

​Not sure if there's a more efficient way, but I remember asking for the same thing a while back, and this is the method I came up with that I'm happy to share:

I assume you use Chrome, so get that forum thread up, then click the three dots on the upper right of the browser and select "more tools", and then "Developer tools", and something like this should pop up:



Click on"Sources" up top and look for lines like this:

The six digit number is the post id number; for example your first post there's id is p437316, and a link to it would be: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic52655.html#p437316

Nice thread you have going there by the way, a lot of interesting bits of Indian history I never would have known about otherwise.

Alternative to checking the source code (table row id attribute), click on "Quote" button of a post you're interested in. The URL will have something like "quote=437330" with your post number. Just add "p" at the beginning of it.

I used quote way described above to do my referee FAQ.

​ You are correct - the number is from when Quote is hovered over -
so the earlier reply of mine is 621230 from the end of what is shown lower left of the screen ...
