I remembered that the 500 yen coins had a little hidden design element not easily seen by the ordinary coin collector ... it spells the country name NIPPON. So I made some pictures at work today.
Does anyone know of other circulation coins with similar design elements?
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces671.html this is a amazing example of micro design coins ,when I first discovered that the year of issue is written in the small star ,I was very amazed how the engraver has done it ,luckily i have this coin and see the date clearly ,the on numista picture we cannot see it ,I don't have a high resolution camera to upload the picture ...

Excuse the night-time pictures. On the obverse is ONE POUND near the edge;
also below the portrait is a shield with a £ hologram. On the reverse is the year
near the edge - so is dated on both sides.
