Less fabulous, but still awesome:

;)

Anyway, great topic! First, here is some appreciation for the colonial bust on my 1868 Hong Kong Dollar:

Staying in Hong Kong, in 1863 the Gothic portrait was used on one and ten cent coins from there, since the colonial portrait (from 1865) hadn't been done yet. Even after that date, these two denominations continued using the Gothic bust until 1901, while the five, twenty and fifty cent coins used the colonial portrait ubiquitous throughout the Empire other than in India and Canada.

And here is their KM#1; no bust, but with "Victoria Regina" abbreviated on it- the only Latin on coins for East Asian British colonies ever IIRC.

I'll post more later. :°
Here are a few:

Closest I'll ever get to a Gothic Crown --

Apparently Queen Victoria herself didn't, and I can see why- The little coronet looks a little silly perched on her head! But then again it is the most "iconic" bust closest to what the average person thinks when they hear her name.

I also wanted to compare the modifications made to the Young portrait midway through its use, what are the differences?

Apologies for yucky photos but here are some more.

States of Jersey 1/24 of a shilling (Halfpenny) 1877 - VF - nice shield detail

UK 1882H Halfpenny - Decent aEF to EF (Sorry for photo), some lustre and great shield detail

1892 Ceylon 10 cents (Absolutely miniscule coin) Decent Fine - Nice colonial reverse with meander design used on eastern colonial coins.

I like this one, it's one of my smallest coins, and a funny denomination (from an American perspective).
I have an 1838, but not good enough condition to bother taking a picture
