Any suggestions on how to clean this copper coin? It doesn’t have any collector value.

It looks worse in the picture than it actually is. I was able to get a positive ID after close examination.

I'm more interested in seeing if it can be saved than anything else. My current cleaning options are:
Dawn dish soap or regular hand soap

Any other suggestions?

Since you say no value, then use autosol or brasso. Need to do afew rounds for this type of condition. After that use zippo lighter fluid to finish the polish to remove any remains of chemicals. That is the method I would approach for worthless coins.
Be kind to people. Sharing is Caring. Collect what you like and not by the Crowd.
To seek for perfection, it is too painful and there is a very high price to pay. To seek for something comfortable is more easy. To seek for nothing is even more easy.
The cleaning suggested in a PM to you did not work? I believe that coin is beyond salvation. Ed

I say it's beyond help because the surface looks all pitted. You can remove the outer layer of it to make it all shiny, but it'll just be an unrealistic shiny pitted coin, it will actually look better the way it is, at least it has a bit of character in the condition it is.

I didn’t try it because this is copper. If it’ll work, I’ll try it on this and see!

Go for it - let me know how it came out. Ed

You could try electrolysis.

Totally agree with Neil, I don't think that cleaning will make this coin to look better.
