Hi, wouldn’t it be great to have Numista in other languages? I could translate it to spanish
Well, at least menu could be translated easily, but translating all the pages would require enormous effort.

What pages? The forum had to be also translated? If not, I could do it

Gonzalo permíteme aprovechar tu hilo para hacer una pregunta similar.

Jarcek as you are already here, please, answer me a similar question; what is the standar that we need to follow to translate the names of kings and queens?

I want to help to improve the spanish section of the catalogue by sending some translations of the lettrerings but some times i find FERNANDVS translated as Fernando (the name of the king in spanish, as I would do) and also Ferdinand (Fernando in english).

Is there any kind of guideline or standar to follow? would be allowed this form: "Ferdinand (Fernando) and Elisabeth (Isabel)"?

So, how about dividing that enormous amount of work between lots of users who want to translate it into spanish?
Je ne parle pas et ne comprend que très peu l'anglais, mais pour ses forums j'utilise le complément imTranslator avec Firefox, il me propose quatre traductions : par Google, par Microsoft, par Translator et par Yandex avec une bulle au dessus du mot choisi.
I do not speak and understand very little English, but for its forums I use the add-on imTranslator with Firefox, it offers me four translations: by Google, by Microsoft, by Translator and by Yandex with a bubble above the word chosen.
vous me comprenez ?
you understand me ? :.

Hello.
I believe you will not find a sufficient number of referees who want to spend even more time (to translate or confirm requests).

The only Guideline about rulers name is in the name of the coin:

In English
The ruler's name should be written in the country's native language. If the country's native language doesn't use latin script, write the English romanization of the name.

But in French
Ecrivez le nom dans la langue locale (exemple : Juan Carlos Ier) ou sa traduction en français (exemple : Édouard VII) selon l'usage dans la langue française. Pour cela, vous pouvez calquer le nom utilisé sur Wikipédia en français.

There are no more guidelines about ruler's names in translation of lettering or ruling authorities.
Referee for Spain, Iberia (ancient), Suebi Kingdom and Visigothic Kingdom
For me, this website lives from being an international community. Noone is judged if his or her English is not perfect. Adding new languages (and translatibg the forum for instance) is separating communities and does not have my support. I also dont agree with the ease to translate coin pages. There are often comment fields etc. which would have to be translated. Something simply not possible for referees. I myself dont speak french and struggle there from time to time. But my spanish is even worse ;)
Just for reference – two links to related older threads which are worth reading for everyone interested in the topic:

Observe this, it is just like UCoin. There are 28 language of this site.

I like this suggestion because it is now easy to understand for Spanish and Latin American users of Numista.

Hi

What would happen, if Chinese start pouring in and demanding their own version? Do "we" just cancel them? Who are "we"? I guess at some point there needs to be an introspection over the current treshold of Numista. My approach would be, to bring more people to the table, hence more coins and tokens shall be updated or newly added. Not all will agree, but its good that we discuss over these things...

Maybe some nice reading here, to put some brighter perspective:

Hello,
I'm closing this topic, since the idea is already discussed here: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic48471.html
Feel free to revive that former thread.
