Comparing Krause to Numista crowd source values

I have always known that Krause values were quite related compared to what I found in the real numismatic world. The prices were so inflated that I felt it was a drag on the amount of collectors in the marketplace. People realized prices were too high and stayed away from the foreign coin market.
Although it is early in the collection of data for Numista pricing, I feel that this time to do a comparison based limited results. I compared Krause versus Numista pricing for nine countries. The results were much to what I expected. For instance, I found 296 coins in my Austrian collection that had Numista pricing. The weighted average was 64% of Krause valuation. The total of 3475 coins was 65% of Krause.
Bottom line I think the Numista valuation is very close to the real numismatic marketplace.
A couple areas need to be mentioned:
1. There is currently a scarcity of pricing for uncirculated coins in Numista.
2. Valuation is based on limited data which will improve in the future.
3. I removed any outliers when they were apparent.

Here is what I found. Let me know what you think.

What I have noticed, mainly regarding Finnish coins is that some prices should be on one grade higer. So if there is a price 3 eur in VF, that should be on XF in some cases. Grading is not easy, I know. In Finland we have very tight grading but we also have "international" grading versus. But if Numista prices are "real" then also our "international" grading is too tight. Regarding Ernie's post, could it be so that the issue is not the price, the grading is the issue.
Grading with crowdsourcing is a totally separate but important issue. In the US grading is not as stringent as the international standard. Generally I find US grading one half of a grade off. When values are added to Numista. I would assume that many members would over grade their coins by one grade. Dealers here take advantage of buyers who do not know how to grade correctly . The best defense against this is to study the art of grading.

By the way, is there any information in Numista examples of correct grading (I mean multiple images of coins for each grade). Would be perfect to have this article approved by experts here!
