Hi.
South Sudan became an independent state on 9 July 2011. Will somebody create this new country in Numista catalog?
The South Sudanese pound is the official currency of the Republic of South Sudan. It is subdivided into 100 piasters: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Sudanese_pound

In case anyone can't open or follow the link, I think what levan was trying to say is that we are expecting South Sudanese coins in the denominations of 1, 5, 25 and 50 Piastres possibly as soon as next month. Perhaps we should wait until they are issued before we start entering any currency for South Sudan in the Numista catalog.
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.

That is old news.

You can always create a new country, as soon as you add a coin from that country.
South Sudan has put only banknotes into circulation so far.

South Sudan's coins are now listed in both Krause & Schon.

Hi,

instead of discussing, just search Numista (South Sudan), here you find ALL the coins so far from South Sudan!

Also, notice the 2 mm diameter difference between all of the coins. Interesting.

When will be the first commemorative, though?

South Sudan is unlikely to ever have coins denominated higher than 2 Pounds - as the value of the South Sudanese Pound has plunged downwards in a huge way.

You can now buy a set of banknotes of 5,10,20,50,& 100 Pounds pretty cheaply - but NOT for any South Sudanese notes with serial numbers starting with a 'Z' prefix,as they are Replacement notes, which can command huge prices in the numismatic marketplace.
