Before we get too many notes added to our wonderful new catalogue, can we pause and consider how to organize the UK notes? These tend to be broken down into Great Britain, Scotland and Northern Ireland in other catalogues. Can I suggest that we have "England" for the issues of the Bank of England and "United Kingdom" (already started) for the Treasury notes (1914-1928) and the military issues (already going in I see), thus skipping "Great Britain" all together?

Ten shilling notes were legal tender throughout the UK but that was the only time. It's best, as Aidan suggests, to consider what can be spent rather than the very limited definition of legal tender.
I was thinking British Armed Forces & British Military Authority could go under United Kingdom but a sub-section within that would be fine. If we reach the point of listing notes from the "provincial" banks as they were known, we certainly could have a separate Welsh section.
Can I urge the swift addition of "issuing entity" to the banknote section so that Scottish and NI notes can start to be added? We'll also need to add later monarchs to Scotland as well as creating Northern Ireland.

British Armed Forces has already been added as an issuing entity for the UK, although it has not been applied to all the relevant notes. Wales still needs to be added as an issuing authority.
