Can a new column be added for the issue limit. As many coins have an issue limit or maximum mintage but many do not reach said limit.

It could be added at either red line maybe.

I don't have a clue what are you talking about. What is the difference between actual mintage and maximum mintage?
A coin will have a mintage which is the number of coins that were actually minted. However many proofs/precious metal proofs have a mintage limit/issue limit meaning that they can only mint/issue upto that amount.

If you look at most UK silver proofs they sell alot less than they said they would mint on the COA. So it would be useful to record how many they were expected to mint and how many they actually minted.

Therefore telling you abit more about a coins popularity as if they actually minted as many as they were allowed you could infer that was a popular coin. However if they said they were going to mint 25000 coins but only minter 800 that tells you it's a good lot less popular thank expected.
I would put them in the comments.
I have been, but as I've been going along I've noticed that lots of coins have issue limits and comments are becoming very full with lots of other information.

I guess this is banknotes for me :)
For me this is probably one the most useless information that I would like to know about a coin, I don't really care how many coins they wanted to issue but how many they actually issued. I suppose this might be noted for those who are interested in the comment field.

I was going to make a similar request before I noticed this thread, so I will add to this as I don’t think people understand the difference, and why something needs to be implemented.

Mintage Figures Vs Issue Limits

We need to have a way to specify if the numbers listed for a specific coin are mintage figures or issue limits, as these are very different.

For example, Pobjoy Mint only lists the Issue Limit on its modern commemorative coins, the only number we know is how many they can/could make in the licence period, they do not list the number of coins they actually minted. We list 1000’s of numbers within the site as ‘Mintage’ and this is inaccurate and misleading.

We could leave the Mintage box empty if absolute numbers are not known, but that isn’t helpful either, and people will continue to list the Issue Limit in that box anyway, because it’s listed on the card, and many don't know the difference.

This coin: N#323173

Has an issue limit of 2,750 that doesn't mean that 2,750 coins were produced, it's possible they only sold 100, we don't know.

We need the option to list both numbers:

Mintage (if we know it) -- Issue Limit (if we know it) -- Both numbers would be even better.
