Hi,
I know recently there are members who continually improves the catalog of Chinese coinage.
However I still spot some flaws that could cause confusions to fellow collectors.
I'd like to point out some of them hence to discuss a way to improve.
- Coins are not sorted by period
You can clearly see this problem on China (ancient) page. The unorganized listing could cause inconvenience to fellow collectors on searching or pinpointing the right coin.
- Denominations on China (ancient) is misleading and less understandable
In Chinese coinage system, "Zhu" represents the unit (weight) of the coin. Therefore, it is not appropriate to name coin as "1 Wu Zhu", which may mislead fellow collectors that "Wu Zhu" is merely a name of the coin. In addition, this could also cause search function issues.
- So many dynasties are put altogether within single "country"
China empire spans over 2000 years. If all coinages put altogether will cause what we see the page of China -Empire today, a single country with hundreds of pages (again, search issues and user-friendliness). I suggest to make use of two-tier system to separate different dynasties. If this can be made, I would also suggest re-merge "China - Empire" and "China (ancient)" together and let it be a separate "country", just like Korea (Korean empire is separate from North and South Korea).
Thanks
Chris
