That's weird. Did you click on "save changes" after you'd ticked what you wanted to?
This setting controls only the unit for the actual silver or gold weight of a coin or of the coins in your collection.
I'm not familiar with units usually used in anglo-saxon countries, but I never saw a catalogue measuring coins in ounces.
Do you believe this setting should also control the weight of coins, as shown in the pages of the catalogue or in your collection records?

Please also note that the ounce used by Numista to display the silver and gold weights is the troy ounce.
I guess expect your collection weight to be shown avoirdupois pounds and avoirdupois ounces, not troy ounces.
