I tried to add signature to a banknote, but as soon as I unmarked the box everything disappeared. Do the names have to be in a list to be accepted, or how does it work?

Yes, so far we have very few signatures in the database. But we can add them, and if you follow Xavier's instructions, this will speed up the process:
