I used to sort this page by coins that might interest me. With some of the recent changes, this sort has become less than useful.
Before I could prioritize with this who had the most coins that I could use. Now this sort produces less than useful information.
My suggestion is to use the same four sort option boxes listed above a potential trade partners coins that he has available to trade on the numismatic exchange web page to refine the outcome of the sort.
This additional sort then will arrange the members that have the most dates or types that I need in descending order.
It should still be possible to sort the list of swap partners by th number of coins that may interest you.
The figures are based on the wishes and the setting you define on the page "Exchange > My wishes".
I can't remember of any change of this page during the past 1 or 2 years. Could you please clarify what you were used to see and what you cannot see anymore?
Regarding your last point, wishes and the number of "coins that may interest me" are only based on coin types, not coin years. The request to define wishes (or missing coins) per year is tracked here: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic45624.html
It actually raises some difficulties from a technical point of view though, so I'm not sure when it can be implemented.
I dug deeper to find the root cause of why there is a major change in the coins that may interest me on the numismatic exchanges page. First, bank notes have been added. Also, there are many coins that I already have in my collection that are included in the coins I might be interested in. This appears to be an error in programming.
I am still interested in prioritizing who has the most coins that I need. I still believe that adding the four checkboxes at the top of the numismatic exchange page is still a good idea even if it is still used on the members page for coins they have available for swap.
Currently, prioritizing by coins I would be interested in has limited value at best.
"First, bank notes have been added"
If you are not interested in banknotes, you can mention it in your wishes (page Exchanges > My wishes)
"Also, there are many coins that I already have in my collection that are included in the coins I might be interested in."
Could you please provide a concrete example so I can investigate on this issue?
