Watch/follow a forum topic or post [Risolto]

Sometimes I would like to watch/follow a post on the forum without having to write a reply to get notifications. Please can you enable this functionality with a button on the post page. Thanks

I believe its either follow "New posts on this thread" or "Topic Subscription" & is employed on many forums (such as CCF seen below):

I would really like to have this function, and I am surprised it does not have more support.

Something like flag or star the discussion (like in your email), so that it is easily visible later.

**I don't want to post/reply and have an empty/meaningless words in a thread to simply flag it for easy reference later.***

The button is visible only if you have forum notifications activated in your account settings.

So it's an all or nothing option. If I in general don't want notifications for topics I posted in I can't opt in for replies for a specific topic unless I first request replies for all then unselect each individual one?

​Correct.

The checkbox in the account settings allows to deactivate all forum notifications. If you want to get notifications only to some topics, you need to keep the checkbox activated, and then use the new button to watch/unwatch each topic.

If you reply to a topic, you get automatically subscribed to that topic, and you can unsubscribe manually.

My point is, if in general I don't want notifications to topics I posted in but want a notification for one (or more) topics I'm interested in I have to first accept notifications for all the topics I posted in then find and deselect each one individually. In my case I would have to find and deselect notifications for the 859 topics I posted in. It makes sense going forward but isn't there a way to cover all the past topics?
