i have a an issue AHK 1904971, which i cannot find in the list. please find attached picture.
Jenkins/Dodge - 2006 - P#104b

If there is the actual easy to identify print year on the note why is the year 2004 entered for all lines, doesn't make sense to me.

P.S. for the future please include a link to the items of your concern to make it easier for everone (LINK)

Typically, if prefixes are listed in the catalogue then it means that the note (provided it is that specific prefix & falls within the number range listed) is an insert replacement note. All general prefixes are just general issue (nothing special).

"...why is the year 2004 entered for all lines, doesn't make sense to me."
-That is the year that the $50 (or any other denomination from CDN Journey Series) was issued. Only the Five (2006) & Ten (2005) differed since early (2001/2002 non-security strip) versions were counterfeited rampantly. For the first (& only) time, this series also had the year printed on the centre-back border of the banknote.

Your info would fit wonderfully in the comment section of the page but it is still no reason to keep the wrong year for an easily dateable note.
I would wish more countries would put the actual print year on their notes it's a nice feature.

-yes, it was nice & led to some nice rare "year change-over" prefixes mostly for the Fives & Tens in that series (for example Knight-Dodge 2001 FEE). Unfortunately, the new polymer series is ND (No Date) so all you get is the year of issue (2011-2013). The majority of banknotes these days seem to lack specific year info.

The 2018 10 Dollars is actually dated - 2018.

All BOC (Bank of Canada) banknotes provide the "Date of issue" on the front of each banknote. That hasn't changed since 1935. And these are considered No Date (ND) by most catalogues because you're just getting the "Date" (year) the banknote series was issued.

But that was not what I referred to in my last post (re: polymer & the new Vertical Series). With the Canadian Journey series (Issue 2002-2006) the front showed the date of issue such as seen under the signatures (on this FEP $10 banknote):

On the back of the same 2005 issue you would see "Printed in 2004" because that was when they were printed (released in 2005). Two years later, further down the print run all the FE_ series ends with FEV (& the Canadian Banknote Co stopped printing Tens). At the same time The BNA continued printing the "B" prefixes (BEU-BEZ) & then from BTA-BTZ prefixes. By the time the BTV was released the front of the banknote would be the same 2005 Issue but at the back you see:

"Printed in 2007"
(This was the last prefix printed in 2007 so this banknote became an instant rarity with only 189,998 printed)

Now with the 2013 polymer series there is "Issue of 2013" on front but NO "Printed in ____" as seen here with this FTU prefix which was likely printed in 2017-2018:

(We can only speculate when the FTU was printed but it came out around the same time as the 2018 so likely 2017)
So, yes there is "Issue of 2018"

on the new Vertical series $10 banknote but you will not see "Printed in 2018" on the back nor any place on this new series. The date of all subsequent prefixes will remain a mystery. Hope that clarifies this somewhat.

Hello everyone !

I'm the referee for Canadian banknotes.

I totally agree with you, I shouldn't have noted the year of issue, but I should have noted the year of printing..? which is why I've taken the last 48 hours to amend/change the various pages with the help of Sulfur :`

At the same time, I took the opportunity to add the following pictures to the pages (They may be useful for some people) :

5 Dollars - Printed in "2001 / 2003 / 2004 / 2005" :

10 Dollars - Printed in "2001 / 2003 / 2004 / 2005" :

5 Dollars - Printed in "2006 / 2008 / 2009 / 2010 / 2011" :

10 Dollars - Printed in "2004 / 2005 / 2007 / 2008 / 2009" :

20 Dollars - Printed in "2004 / 2005 / 2006 /2007 / 2008 / 2009 / 2010 / 2011" :

50 Dollars - Printed in "2004 / 2006 / 2008 / 2011" :

100 Dollars - Printed in "2003 / 2005 / 2006 / 2009 / 2010" :

Please have a look to the different pages and let me know if you see any kind of mistakes (wrong year, spelling mistakes...). Let me know what you think about the pages ! ;)

Have a nice day all,
Best regards,
Galor :`
Great work 👍
Would be nice if refs could change years with owners, maybe the cat-admin gets a change request that then gets waved through or not (I think this would be faster).

- great job!
I just noticed one mistake. P-102 Tens were first printed in 2000 (see image below) & issued in 2001:

SCWPM coding is misleading on this because there is no 2001 Knight-Thiessen $10 and yet they have P-102a listed as 2001/2000? This certainly only adds to the confusion.

All "Knight-Thiessen" FDT-FDW, FDY & FDZ* were printed in 2000. (Also Knight-Thiessen BEH were printed in 2000 for the "Lasting Impressions" SET release- but not released into circulation).

FDZ* 9.0M-9.6M Knight-Thiessen were printed as replacements in 2000. Then (I know this gets a little crazy) but from 9.6M & above the FDZ prefix is still employed but the signature changes to Knight-Dodge & they were "Printed in 2001." (While there were 600,000 Knight-Thiessen (2000) printed & only 400,000 Knight Dodge (2001) printed- the former proved much scarcer than the latter).

Hope that clarifies things a little. LMK if you need the "Printed in 2000" image & I will send it.
