Strange search bug

So strange: in my own collection, if I want to check my USSR coins, and for the issuer I type U, it gives the USSR. But for US, it doesn't appear (while it appears in "Search coins" in the general menu!).

I f you search for a banknote, you get no hit, but you enter in the coin search, too.

It's beacuase the country is calles United States of America. USSR is written out, and therefore you'll get a hit. If it said United States of America (USA), you would get a hit.

​Pfff... you haven't learnt European history. USSR was the Soviet Union.

If you type Burma you get Myanmar, if you type Deutschland you get Germany it's the alternative name search.
Maybe a notification could pop up to clarify that or but I don't know if that is possible the alternative name you searched appears in brackets somewhere?

Interesting, really Deutchland gives Germany, in the general Search coins section. Still, USSR doesn't work, nor CCCP.

I see that the search probably has helping tags. So, could we add these short forms of the Soviet Union?

Typing USSR or CCCP now match with the Soviet Union.

This feature to match with alternative or local names works only on some pages, including the search page. It doesn't exist for "My coins" or swap lists yet. That's why "US" doesn't match with United States when looking at your collection.

Do you mean that I should type Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics, instead of its abbreviation? You said that USSR gives a hit, but my problem was it didn't.
For me, it looked like you are saying that I should type United States of America INSTEAD of USSR.

The country is called Soviet Union, not United States of America.
