Hello All!
I want to enter a Hungarian Quarterling into my list, but can't identify the date. The coin is extremely crude, so much so that I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time with a possible identification. To my mind, it is simply unreadable.
My question is - and this may well be the wrong place for it - having identified the coin as being from the reign of King Sigismund, and I'm sure it is a Quarterling, being from the date 1430-1437; am I allowed by Numista's best practice, to take a stab in the dark, or alot it a date halfway(ish) between 1430-1437? Bearing in mind that I, as I'm sure do others, rely on Numista's database for a list of my coins, in case of theft.
If someone could please advise me of Numista's rules here, I would appreciate it.
Thanks, and it's nice to be back, AY
Edit: P.S. A-I datemark is as close as I can imagine the crude bumps on the coin to be.
