Cita: nalaberong Cita: nosouvenirs Not just because it's old and gold... but because it's called a Ducat! Only Star Trek: DS9 fans will get this reference...
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces32111.html And anyone who knows that the gold ducat used to be the standard gold trade coin in Europe...OMG. The Cardassian guy, one of the villains on DS9, was called "Gul Ducat". It all makes sense now...

I just like the design. I think it's quite unique. (Well, the reverse anyway... though the hole is also something.)

Never seen this coin, what year would that be. If only we got to actually GET the coin at random. I would pay for subscription to this site if I did.

I'd be *rich*.lol. Well I was thinking if they did do that, let's say charge $500.00 per year I would assume they may do a tier set up. Example: On your birthday you get a random gold coin, and the rest of the time use a random number generator to pick what gets sent out, with a chance at silver, etc. Have to keep the values per person within what they pay for subscription, kind of like that dude's opaque box site. Minus this is just a flat fee. Coin of the month club, but I would think for $500.00 it would have to be coin of the week.

Hello, everybody.
My apologies that this Elizabeth II 1965 florin is more commonplace than some of the rare and magnificent coins already discussed, but it is beautiful.
The wonderfully intricate reverse contains:
5 thistles
4 shamrocks
3 leeks
1 Tudor rose
for Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England respectively.
Also, there is the touching portrait of the young Queen on the obverse, with "DEI GRATIA REGINA" unabbreviated.

I haven't looked at random coins for a while but here we go:
N#177800
Love the detail on this piece. Always wanted a Hamburg coin. Actually, one of the dealers here has a Drei Mark, around AU condition, that I kinda want. May get it we shall see, maybe I should start collecting German States by Drei Marks. N#244174
I don't have a coin from Vitellius at all, but this one reminds me of my Vespasian, from 73AD, with a similar reverse.
