I just edited the confusing posts of #1 #2 & #3 by adding correct references.
But #1 is still a duplicate listing because of the problems with KM and Albertine Thalers which is mixing those two types up.

Can one of you experts cast an eye on this coin:

Falkland Islands, 5 Pence 2011

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces113082.html
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces23469.html

The difference between these two is that one is Copper-nickel and therefore not magnetic and the other is Magnetic.

My understanding is that the 2004 was Copper Nickel and the 2011 was struck in the same die but with Nickel plated Steel.

Creator referenced this blog: http://worldcoinnews.blogspot.fr/search/label/falkland%20islands

No Krause reference to 2011 Coin in the 2019 edition.

So question is:

As this is exactly the same coin, can we add a note to 2004 (Not Magnetic) and 2011 (Magnetic) on this entry https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces23469.html

Or should there be two entries, as there are now and no 2011 entry on the first page?

Thanks for your help :wiz:

Hello.
Hey. Usually for different metals should create different pages. The question is, was there really two versions of this coin in 2011? I would suggest the referee check it out.
Thank you.

Hey Cyrillius,

Yes, I agree. I spoke to one of my friends that owns a coin shop on the Falklands and he said that there was only nickel plated steel produced in 2011 but they used the same reverse die as 2004.

When the referee checks it out, I guess we will end up with one page for the 2004 and one for the 2011 :`

Thanks

According to Word coin News, There are two different material for 5 Pence 2011.
I get a non magnetic 5 Pence from 2011 and I have no doubt that the magnetic version has been issued too.
[edit] Few collectors confirmed to me this night that their coin version is actually magnetic.

These are duplicate listings. I am the creator of both pages 0:)
I don't remember listing it the first time and somehow it found it's way into the stack to be added. It is much more of a presentation type "Medal" is the reason I listed it under medals in Exonumia the second time, but it can go either way as there are no clear definitions as to what is a medal and what is a souvenir token. Each listing only has one member that possess the piece, which is me both times so no need add it to the surviving page.

Titus17: these are different tokens, if they have different references (at least in the paper catalog WTTP). Different metals?
Cyrillus:

I'm not sure, but I believe the two numbers reference minor varieties (presence of Sherritt Mint privy mark?) The two I reported were new pages without photos. I know TokenCatalog.com has got some duplicate listings.
